Judaism And ‘The Angel Of The LORD’

I pray that this post speaks to whomever it needs to, in the name of the LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ.

My aim with this post is to re-examine the Judaic belief that GOD cannot appear as a man (as if one can put restrictions on what GOD can or cannot do, as if the LORD declared in HIS Holy Word that HE cannot appear as a man — quite the opposite! One thing is for certain, as the LORD tells us, HE cannot lie).

I seek to examine this ‘person,’ the Angel of the LORD as presented to us in the Holy Bible, by using the Tanakh, of course, and only the Tanakh. I do, however, cast the Tanakh translations against a so-called Christian translation (NKJV) to provide a basis for where this post is going. All Bible verses listed are as they appear in the The Jewish Bible, the Tanakh, by the Jewish Publication Society (JPS); the links go to the NKJV translation.

I ask – If this ‘angel of the LORD’ speaks as GOD and people, as shown in the Tanakh, react to him as GOD, then isn’t it quite possible that the LORD was showing that yes, it is indeed possible for HIM to literally physically appear as a man and still remain divine? Since no man can see GOD’s face and live, isn’t it possible that HE makes a way for us to behold HIM visually without being overwhelmed with HIS glory, or having to die (seeing how sinful we are)?

  • The Angel of the LORD: the heavenly messenger whose presence is evidence of GOD HIMSELF (Thomas-Nelson concordance)

The LORD recently revealed an area of HIS Holy Scriptures to me, leading me to question, again, the choice of translations and wording in the Jewish Tanakh.

In the so-called Christian translation of the Holy Bible, all throughout the Old Testament we read of the ‘Angel of the LORD’, while in the Tanakh we read of ‘an angel of the LORD.’ This is notable because the so-called Christian translation acknowledges the importance of this Angel of the LORD… HE is no ‘ordinary’ angel, if you will. While in the Tanakh, although HIS importance cannot be veiled due to what HE declares and does, the translators seem to refuse to acknowledge that this is not just ‘an angel’ but a very specific angel.

Just as the ‘Commander of the Army of the LORD’ (NKJV) or the ‘captain of the LORD’s host’ (Tanakh) is very much a specific angel, so is the Angel of the LORD. And we know these two are not like the other angels, like Michael or Gabriel, for example. For these two demand reverence, unlike the other angels — who never speak as GOD or demand reverence, as the Angel of the LORD does. Read the rest of this entry »

PETA: Jewish Animal Sacrifice Causing Bloody Mess

I feel I should clarify — I’m using ‘bloody’ as it means and not as a swear word.

Thanks to this site I randomly came across (JewSchool, as seen in the screenshot below), I found out that Jews in America are still finding ways to carry out animal sacrifices… in which the animals are ‘stand-ins’ and take on their sins.

Christians know that Jesus’ crucifixion was the last and final sacrifice GOD required for mankind’s sins — HIS Only Begotten Son was The Spotless Lamb, the only One without sin — the only One who was worthy to even be counted as a sacrifice (and not only was Jesus the Spotless Sacrifice, HE is also the High Priest). The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY no longer requires such offerings, as the Psalmist writes, but requires true repentance.

Psalm 40:6Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. 7Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book [it is] written of me (Jesus the Christ)

Psalm 51:16For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart– These, O God, You will not despise.

Here is a practical reason why animal sacrifices are no longer relevant: Read the rest of this entry »

Irony: Palestinian Fighters Seek Refuge In Israel From Gaza Violence

The irony of this event is just too much to ignore. It’s as if the enemy is now eating his own arm. And one more for you — it almost appears that Israel’s ‘enemies’ are now bowing themselves before the Jewish people. A third — those who live by the sword…

Most of the 180 Fatah supporters who fled into Israel from a deadly Hamas crackdown over the weekend will be sent back into the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Israeli and Palestinian officials said.

The men, members of a heavily armed Gaza clan linked to Fatah, escaped to Israel under fire on Saturday after a Hamas raid on their family’s stronghold left nine people dead and nearly 90 wounded. The violence, some of the worst infighting Gaza has seen since Hamas seized control in the territory a year ago, forced the Palestinians to seek refuge in Israel – their longtime enemy.

Muslim-To-Christian Convert Tells Truth About Islam

I usually abstain from posting the full text from articles, but this piece is just too important not to. Read it slowly and read it well. The son of Muslim Hamas leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef discusses turning his life over to Jesus Christ and explains why he believes Muslims will never truly seek peace with the Jews of Israel.

A moment before beginning his supper, Masab, son of West Bank Hamas leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef, glances at the friend who has accompanied him to the restaurant where we met. They whisper a few words and then say grace, thanking God and Jesus for putting food on their plates.

It takes a few seconds to digest this sight: The son of a Hamas MP who is also the most popular figure in that extremist Islamic organization, a young man who assisted his father for years in his political activities, has become a rank-and-file Christian. “I’m now called Joseph,” he says at the outset.

Masab knows that he has little hope of returning to visit the Holy Land in this lifetime.

“I know that I’m endangering my life and am even liable to lose my father, but I hope that he’ll understand this and that God will give him and my family patience and willingness to open their eyes to Jesus and to Christianity. Maybe one day I’ll be able to return to Palestine and to Ramallah with Jesus, in the Kingdom of God.” Read the rest of this entry »

Changing Of The Guard In Israel – Whom Will The LORD Install?

Everyone who reads and understands the Holy Bible knows that Israel, Jerusalem and it’s people play a pivotal role in our history (and future). Israel is GOD’s first born and HE loves her dearly.

Israel (Abraham) received the first covenant, and although many Jews seem to reject Jesus of Nazareth as Messiah and the LIVING SON OF GOD ALMIGHTY (and the truth that one can indeed die for the sins of another… but only ONE is fully worthy and sinless to do that, Jesus the Christ), the LORD revealed to the prophets that HE will indeed redeem HIS people. Because they won’t be able to deny the Truth forever. They will embrace the Truth — Salvation through Jesus the Christ, the spotless lamb sent from GOD whose blood makes atonement for all who seek to be saved. Jesus, our High Priest forever.

But, based on what I have read in the prophecies, Israel will have to be torn down and humbled before she is glorified. Under whose watch will this happen? Read the rest of this entry »
