By LaVrai, 9 March, 2009, No Comment

newspapersI wonder if folks realize that we can speak with GOD from just about anywhere… and we don’t even really need to open our mouths…

Excerpt:

Dubbed God’s Hotline, it aims to focus attention on changes to the ways Dutch people perceive religion.

Dutch artist Johan van der Dong chose a mobile phone number to show that God was available anywhere and anytime, Radio Netherlands reported.

School Cites ‘In GOD We Trust’ and ‘GOD Bless The USA’ As Violation

By LaVrai, 4 March, 2009, No Comment

in-god-we-trustConsidering that the American currency reads “In GOD We Trust” and that just about everyone loves to intone “GOD bless America” and that “GOD Bless the USA” is pretty much an American anthem… this is one of the silliest “controversies” I’ve come across (in the past few weeks).

Are You Truly Walking With Jesus Christ If You Deny The “Other Helper,” The Holy Spirit?

By LaVrai, 3 October, 2008, No Comment

I love the Holy Spirit, as I love Jesus Christ and GOD the FATHER. It disappoints me when I hear people speak of the Holy Spirit as an “it” or as some thing we can manipulate — The Holy Spirit is a PERSON, as Jesus and GOD are PERSONS. HE talks with us, helps us understand the Holy Bible, teaches us how to pray and blesses us with as many gifts as HE deems necessary. By HIM we are sealed for GOD until the day of Jesus Christ’s return.

And let me just say — we cannot survive the on-coming time of the Anti-Christ if we are walking by the flesh — we all need the Holy Spirit in our lives, as HE leads us in the FATHER’s will and shows us how to walk. If you have not yet heard “that still small voice” or you just aren’t sure if HE abides with you, pray in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that the FATHER sends the Holy Spirit to dwell with you — but you had better make sure the temple is clean. The LORD our GOD is holy, holy, holy.

Here is a wonderful article from Answers In Genesis, in which the author does an excellent job of laying out scripture which shows (with no “genius” work needed) who the Holy Spirit is and how HE works in our lives:

The Holy Spirit Is a Person

The Holy Spirit can speak (Acts 8:29, 11:12, 13:2Acts 8:29, 11:12, 13:2
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

)-though some people don’t think the Holy Spirit can speak because they think of the Holy Spirit as an impersonal force, or simply a presence. For instance, a Jehovah’s Witness might say something like this:

“The holy spirit is not a person and it is not a part of a Trinity. The holy spirit is God’s active force that he uses to accomplish his will. . . . To a certain extent, it can be likened to electricity.”1

The Jehovah’s Witness sees the Holy Spirit as an impersonal force. Maybe you, too, have trouble thinking of the Holy Spirit as a real person. After all, He doesn’t have a physical body like Jesus does. But He is a person who has eternally lived in an intimate relationship with God the Father and God the Son. And now He invites each of us to participate in that dynamic relationship of love.

Biblical Proof that the Holy Spirit is a Person

A real person has the attributes of personality, which include mind, will, and emotions. Does the Holy Spirit have a will? He distributes spiritual gifts to Christians “as He wills.”2 Does the Holy Spirit have a mind? He “searches . . . the deep things of God” and knows them.3 Does the Holy Spirit have emotions? We are told to “grieve not the Holy Spirit.”4 If the Holy Spirit can be grieved, then He has emotions. Because the Holy Spirit has a mind, a will, and emotions, we know that He is a Person.5

A real person also has the capacity to have relationships with others. That’s the primary reason we have mind, will, and emotions. According to Philippians 2:1Philippians 2:1
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

2 1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

, the Spirit is able to have fellowship with us.6 According to 2 Corinthians 13:142 Corinthians 13:14
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi, a city of Macedonia, by Titus and Lucas.

, the Holy Spirit can have communion with us.7 One who is able to commune and to have fellowship is capable of personal relationships. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is a person.

Reward Of False Prophets and Empty Oracles

By LaVrai, 23 June, 2008, No Comment

Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD has gone forth in fury- A violent whirlwind! It will fall violently on the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD will not turn back Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly. “I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

The LORD Does A New Thing, Such Has Never Been Done Before

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — The rising Cedar River forced the evacuation of a downtown hospital Friday after residents of more than 3,000 homes fled for higher ground. A railroad bridge collapsed, and 400 city blocks were underwater.

The hospital’s 176 patients, including about 30 in a nursing home facility, were being transferred to other hospitals in the region.

The evacuation started late Thursday night and continued Friday morning in the city of 124,000 residents.

“Some are frail and so it’s a very delicate process with them,” said Karen Vander Sanden, a hospital spokeswoman. Video Watch how folks are coping in Cedar Rapids »

Water was seeping into the hospital’s lower levels, where the emergency generator is located, said Dustin Hinrichs of the Linn County emergency operations center.

“They proactively and preventatively started evacuation basically guessing on the fact they were going to lose power,” he said.

Dave Koch, a spokesman for the Cedar Rapids fire department, said the river will crest Friday at about 31.8 feet. It was at 30.9 feet early in the morning. In a 1993 flood, considered the worst in recent history, it was at 19.27 feet.

“We are seeing a historic hydrological event taking place with unprecedented river levels occurring,” said Brian Pierce, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Davenport, Iowa. “We’re in uncharted territory — this is an event beyond what anybody could even imagine.”

Flooding also closed Interstate 80 from east of Iowa City to Davenport. The flooded Cedar River crosses the interstate in Cedar County, about 20 miles east of Iowa City.

Iowa Gov. Chet Culver declared 83 of the state’s 99 counties state disaster areas. Nine rivers are at or above historic flood levels. Amtrak’s California Zephyr line was suspended across Iowa because of flooding along the BNSF Railway.

No deaths or serious injuries were reported in Iowa, but two men died in their cars in southern Minnesota and western lower Michigan. (source)

1 Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty and makes it waste, Distorts its surface And scatters abroad its inhabitants. 2 And it shall be: As with the people, so with the priest; As with the servant, so with his master; As with the maid, so with her mistress; As with the buyer, so with the seller; As with the lender, so with the borrower; As with the creditor, so with the debtor. 3 The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered, For the LORD has spoken this word. 4 The earth mourns and fades away, The world languishes and fades away; The haughty people of the earth languish. 5 The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, And those who dwell in it are desolate. English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The Great Tribulation
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
