Pope Calls For Renewal Of Eucharistic Adoration…What Won’t The RCC Worship?

By LaVrai, 17 March, 2009, No Comment

eucharist_adorationIt’s a good thing Pope Benedict XVI is so open about church teachings, as I’ve learned some very important aspects of the Roman Catholic faith that I was totally unaware of… albeit some rather strange things. For example, the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) teaches that followers can pray the dead out of purgatory (otherwise know as indulgences), that only the sitting pope can forgive some sins (as opposed to regular old priests) and now Benedict is promoting serious worshiping of the Eucharist, that is holy communion. But this isn’t your regular holy communion, as the pope aptly explained recently. Check out his “suggestions” and read some information on this mystical experience of the eucharist as explained by Catholic sources. Then read some passages from the Holy Bible to see exactly what GOD has to say about worshiping wafers.

Anglican Church Of Canada Shows Serious Biblical Ignorance On Jesus

By LaVrai, 3 March, 2009, No Comment

The Anglican Church of Canada portrays Jesus the Christ as a recovering racist in their misinterpretation of Matthew 15:22-27Matthew 15:22-27
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

(NKJV)

22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” 23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” 26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

Publisher Recalls Christian Enclyclopedia For Being ‘Too Christian’

By LaVrai, 13 February, 2009, No Comment

I’m not too sure what’s happening to the world, but it sure has become very unfriendly to Christians as of late. A female nurse got fired for offering to pray for an elderly person in her care (she was eventually re-hired). Another woman is being reprimanded at work because she wrote a letter asking for prayer. Now, we’ve got a publisher pulling a set of encyclopedias — on Christian civilization, none the less — for not being friendly enough to Islam. So, they would prefer history be re-written to make the acts of historical Muslims appear less aggressive and violent?

Wiley-Blackwell, a major academic publisher, is recalling copies of Encyclopedia of Christian Civilization and scrapping the print run after critics said the entries were “too Christian” and “too anti-Muslim.”

The publisher was set to release the four-volume encyclopedia this month after it was completed last September.

But a small group of critics that included contributors and some members of the editorial board objected to the final version.

“They determined that the Introduction and many of the entries were ‘too Christian, too orthodox, too anti-secular and too anti-Muslim and not politically correct enough for being used in universities,” said the encyclopedia’s editor, George Thomas Kurian, sounding angry in an e-mail sent last week to nearly 400 contributors.

The charge against the book was led by David Morgan, professor of Religion at Duke University, and Bernard McGinn, professor of Historical Theology and of the History of Christianity at The University of Chicago Divinity School, according to Kurian.

Blackwell subsequently decided to suspend the publication, recall copies already distributed, and destroy the existing print run.

Kurian called the move the “first instance of mass book-burning in the 21st century.”

The book was intended to be a comprehensive work on the history and legacy of Christianity, looking not only at the religion but at the aspects of society, such as art, literature, architecture, music, politics, and scholarship, it has shaped.

Now, the book’s publisher and editorial director want to “de-christianize” all 1,450l 1,450

entries in the encyclopedia to make it politically correct before it can be reprinted, according to Kurian.

He also claimed the press is looking to delete words including, “Antichrist,” “Enemy,” “Beloved Disciple,” “Gates of Hell,” “Witness,” “Virgin Birth,” “Resurrection,” “Evangelism” and any reference with an “evangelical tone.” BC and AD, chronological markers for “Before Christ” and “Anno Domini,” will also likely to dropped.

Kurian also said the press objected to “historical references to the persecution and massacres of Christians by Muslims, but at the same time wanted references favorable to Islam.”

“To make the treatment ‘more balanced,’ they also want the insertion of material denigrating Christianity in some form or fashion. All these I have refused to do,” stated the encyclopedia’s editor.

He added, “This is the most blatant form of censorship in the history of religious publishing.”

The world has to walk on egg shells for Islam… yet Christians have to put up with being descriminated against, having our GOD’s name taken in vain and our LORD and SAVIOR ridiculed and mocked. Yet a cartoon of their demon-worshiping prophet is strictly prohibited.

I don’t like this new world…

Presbyterians To Study Place Homosexuality Should Have In Christianity

By LaVrai, 10 February, 2009, No Comment

I believe brother Paul the apostle explained the place homosexuality has in the Church… absolutely none:

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Apparently, the Word of the LIVING GOD is not good enough for these folks calling themselves by Jesus Christ’s name.

The Presbyterian Church (USA) has tapped a 13-member committee to investigate the place same-sex unions should have in Christianity and wider society and issue a report in 2010.

The Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow, who is currently serving a two-year term as the church’s moderator and who chose members of the panel, said it is composed of theologians, lawyers, pastors and professionals from an array of theological backgrounds.

“I know there will be a lot of commentary on the choices I have made,” Reyes-Chow, pastor of a San Francisco church, said on his blog before making the announcement, “and on the work that they will do.”

Like most mainline Protestant denominations, the PC(USA) has been divided for years about the role of gays and lesbians in the church. Currently, 173 presbyteries, or local governing bodies, are voting on whether to allow gay and lesbian ministers. Clergy are allowed to bless same-sex unions so long as the relationship is not equated with marriage.

Video: Saddleback Pastor Rick Warren Uses Koran To Refer To GOD At Obama Inauguration

By LaVrai, 3 February, 2009, No Comment

Todd Friel of “Wretched” radio picks apart Saddleback Pastor Rick Warren’s prayer during President Barack Obama’s inaugural ceremony. He also takes a brief look at Mr. Obama’s reference to Scripture (which he does quite often).

Is Friel being petty and going overboard with analyzing every missed or “twisted” word/phrase?
