Bush Thought He Was GOD’s Agent To Wipe Out Enemies, Help Usher In New Age?

This is a troubling revelation for various reasons… but let me begin at the beginning.

Recently, GQ magazine revealed daily Pentagon briefings from years ago when the war in Iraq had just started. These briefings, coming from then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s office, were plastered with images of military servicemembers in the field juxtaposed with verses from the Holy Bible (completely out of context, mind you).

Former President George W. Bush did not hide the fact that he was Christian while he was in office. In fact, he spoke rather openly about GOD. However, based on the things he said, it appears he was referring to another god. This is the same president who said he saw GOD when he looked into Pope Benedict XVI’s eyes. This is the same president who said there are many paths to Heaven. This is also the same president who said we all pray to the same GOD and the the Holy Bible is not literally true.

Now, to the latest bit of information on George W. Bush’s religion. Apparently, when Bush was dealing with the Mideast peace/conflict, he believed he had also heard from GOD and that GOD wanted him to give the Palestinian people freedom (Oct. 2005). Bush apparently also thought GOD was using him as HIS own agent to rid the Middle East of HIS enemies and to help usher in a “new age.”

In 2003 while lobbying leaders to put together the Coalition of the Willing, President Bush spoke to France’s President Jacques Chirac. Bush wove a story about how the Biblical creatures Gog and Magog were at work in the Middle East and how they must be defeated.

… Bush believed the time had now come for that battle, telling Chirac: “This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins”. (Source)

Besides what the Bible actually says about the battle of Armageddon and Gog and Magog (read about it here)… this is doubly troubling because Bush isn’t a follower of Jesus Christ and he doesn’t know GOD ALMIGHTY. I want to know whose voice he’s supposedly listening to… this voice that speaks of a “new age.”
