It Seems All Jesus Is Good For Are His Philosophical Speeches
This is what it appears President Obama seems to think anyway. This man, who calls himself a Christian, doesn’t know Who Jesus Is nor what He died for (I have yet to see the evidence of such knowledge). But our president knows that the Messiah surely left behind some awesome speech material that he can quote from when he wants to uplift people and motivate the crowds to do good works. Case in point: Mr. Obama’s speech at George Town University. According to two reports, the White House had aksed for the smbols IHS, representing Jesus Christ’s name to be covered-up, and it appears there is no direct mention of the Messiah’s name in the president’s speech either. GOD forbid, that at a Catholic school, you say the LORD’s name out loud.
According to one report:
Although the monogram was covered over on the wooden pediment at the back of the Gaston Hall stage where it would have been directly above and behind President Obama as he spoke, the letters “IHS” are posted elsewhere around the hall approximately 26 times on shields representing different parts of the United States and the world.
Obama did not mention the name of Jesus during his address. However, he did mention Christ’s Sermon on the Mount.
“There is a parable at the end of the Sermon on the Mount that tells a story of two men…‘the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house…it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock,’” Obama said.
“We cannot rebuild this economy on the same pile of sand,” he added. “We must build our house upon a rock.” (Source)
For it was not founded upon “a rock”… it’s fare to say Mr. Obama and his speechwriters dont’ know Jesus Christ wasn’t talking about any old rock…. And it’s likely they dont’ care too much, either, for who comes to a religious school and asks to have the religious symbols showing up in their shot to be covered? … And then quote a “parable” from the religous book that the religiously-based institution uses? I suppose they didn’t want to offend anyone by making them think President Obama and Jesus could possibly have anything going on.
