PETA: Jewish Animal Sacrifice Causing Bloody Mess

By LaVrai, 26 August, 2008, No Comment

I feel I should clarify — I’m using ‘bloody’ as it means and not as a swear word.

Thanks to this site I randomly came across (JewSchool, as seen in the screenshot below), I found out that Jews in America are still finding ways to carry out animal sacrifices… in which the animals are ’stand-ins’ and take on their sins.

Christians know that Jesus’ crucifixion was the last and final sacrifice GOD required for mankind’s sins — HIS Only Begotten Son was The Spotless Lamb, the only One without sin — the only One who was worthy to even be counted as a sacrifice (and not only was Jesus the Spotless Sacrifice, HE is also the High Priest). The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY no longer requires such offerings, as the Psalmist writes, but requires true repentance.

Psalm 40:6Psalm 40:6
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. opened: Heb. digged

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. 7Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book [it is] written of me (Jesus the Christ)

Psalm 51:16Psalm 51:16
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. else...: or, that I should

For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. 17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart– These, O God, You will not despise.

Here is a practical reason why animal sacrifices are no longer relevant:

NEW YORK (JTA) — An animal rights group is calling for a New York state investigation into kapporos, the High Holidays ritual that involves swinging a live chicken over one’s head.

The ceremony is meant to transfer one’s sins to the bird, which is then slaughtered and its meat, or an equivalent monetary amount, is given to the poor.

Instead, the rights group charges, thousands of dead chickens were thrown away in Dumpsters following last year’s ritual in Brooklyn, a violation of Jewish law and a burden on sanitation workers.

It’s the second year in a row that the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, is objecting to kapporos in the New York City borough, but the first year it is focusing on dumping dead birds.

Last summer’s complaint to the state and city was more wide ranging, alleging a variety of health and safety violations as well as animal cruelty.

Read the full article here… and there’s even a disturbing PETA video of the ritual (I couldn’t get very far, so be forewarned).

This post is not about supporting PETA. This post is about men doing a meaningless work that GOD does not delight in. And if you noticed in the article — they can’t even fulfill the full letter of the law, if the birds are indeed to be given to the poor (or a monetary equivalent). What’s the point then?
