Jesus Christ Describes How He Will Return To Earth

By LaVrai, 26 August, 2008, No Comment

The Word of the LORD Jesus Christ – one false prophet is removed, but how many others will rise in his place? The strong delusion is indeed being poured out.

Notice the order in which Christ Jesus lists these occurances.

Matthew 24:

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
(Mark 13:3-13Mark 13:3-13
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. sorrows: the word in the original importeth the pains of a woman in travail 9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. 10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. 12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. [How many false christs have you read about? And have you taken notice of their large number of followers? Have you noticed that none of them seem to have a problem with each other or that there are other men claiming to be Jesus?]

6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. [We are currently in a war, and I am not speaking of Iraq or Afghanistan. I am speaking of the one Russia started on Aug. 8, 2008g. 8, 2008

, in which they invaded a country 'backed' by the U.S. -- Have you noticed how irrational whomever is leading Russia is behaving (whether it be Vladimir Putin or Dmitry Medvedev)? Gog's leader says 'Yes, a truce' and then in fact compounds his divisive actions. It will get worse].

And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. [Shall I recount for you how many earthquakes we've had this year across the globe, and how many hundreds of thousands of lives were lost in but a few minutes? -- Do I need to point how people in countries like Haiti, North Korea and others are starving to the point where people are eating mud (Haiti)? -- If that isn't a famine, I'm not sure what is. -- As for pestilences, sure, we can start with HIV/AIDS, but what of the countless diseases we have cures/vaccines for stockpiled and not in use in nations around the world... that are killing babies literally every minute (if not second) across the continent of Africa.]

I will digress for some quick facts on how the continent of Africa has been stricken (according to WHO):

  • The African Region has 11% of the world’s population, but an estimated 60% of people with HIV/AIDS, which is the leading cause of death for adults in those affected regions.
  • Malaria is endemic in 42 of the 46 countries of the African Region. More than 90% of the estimated 300-500 million clinical cases of malaria that occur across the world every year are in Africans, primarily children under the age of five years. There are nearly a million deaths due to malaria each year, the vast majority among children under five.
  • An estimated 2.4 million new tuberculosis cases – 24% of all notified cases worldwide – and half a million tuberculosis deaths are reported in the Region each year.
  • 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. [Now, I've heard some say this was fulfilled with the apostles, for many of them were gruesomely murdered for professing Salvation through Jesus Christ the Only Begotten Son of the LIVING GOD. However, they were not hated by 'all nations' ... Christians right now are not hated by 'all nations.' Yes, there are countries in which it's fatally dangerous to profess faith in Jesus the Christ, but by and large, Christians can live and practice their Faith freely without fear of persecution in a majority of places around the world -- FOR NOW.]

Interestingly enough, with many of these Asian and African countries in which people are persecuted to death for professing Christianity — they aren’t only targeted just because they don’t adhere to the official state religion. They are targeted, it seems, for believing the Truth — Christianity. For example, the state-approved churches in China are allowed because the doctrine is not the Gospel; it is mixed with state ideology and philosophy. These people attending state-approved churches call themselves Christians (as did President Bush when he attended one during the Beijing Summer Olympic Games), but they do not believe in total allegiance to the Spotless Lamb Christ Jesus. I don’t even know if they confess that Jesus is LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. So, it appears, in some countries you can choose any religion EXCEPT true Christianity.

By the way, this is what President Bush said as he exited the government church: ”no state, man or woman, should fear the influence of loving religion.” [Care to explain what 'the influence of loving religion' means?]

10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.[If for professing faith in Jesus Christ, I guess this verse refers to those countries in which it is illegal to be a Christian. If in this verse, the LORD Jesus Christ is referring to the emotional/ethical/empathic climate of the time -- then we see the fulfillment of that every time we hear a report about a baby being put in a microwave, someone being stabbed to death over a TV remote control, someone being beheaded on a bus, a man raping his own mother, daughter and everyone else's children, etc.]

11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. [Many of us can just turn on our favorite 'religious' TV stations to count some of these false prophets -- who are wealthy by the way, which must mean they have very many deceived followers.]

12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. [Did you hear about the neighbors in Queens who waited 30 minutes to call the cops after hearing a young woman screaming bloody murder in her apartment? -- How many times has it been 'nobody's' business what the Jones are doing with their daughter next door? -- How many foster children die every year because someone 'didn't have the time' to follow protocol...or their gut instinct?]

13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. THE MOST IMPORTANT 10 WORDS A CHRISTIAN MUST REMEMBER: BUT HE WHO ENDURES TO THE END SHALL BE SAVED.

No matter what happens, we cannot look back (doubt) like Lot’s wife. We must not fear, but trust in the LORD our GOD, for HE says in Isaiah 35: 3Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. 4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”

14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. [The LORD Jesus Christ doesn't say 'to the nations,' but 'to all the nations.' The Gospel Truth of Salvation through Jesus Christ is easier to share and much more accessible thanks to technology (like airplanes and the Internet), but I don't believe we have come to the point where we can say 'all nations' know the Gospel of Salvation through Jesus the Christ].

2 1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, unto him: or, around him 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. withholdeth: or, holdeth 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

    :

1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

GOD's people must pray always, constantly, regularly, daily to OUR FATHER in the name of Jesus Christ. We must walk always under the anointing of Christ Jesus' blood. We must walk always in the Holy Spirit and in Truth. We must read the Holy Scriptures of the LIVING GOD. We must pray for one another, that the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY will pour out HIS Spirit among us and strengthen us and embolden us to do what HE calls each and every one of us to do.

We must be sure of why and in WHOM we hope... and in this be confident: The LORD our GOD says, "I will not leave you nor forsake you. ... Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.

[So far, the LORD Jesus Christ has not made mention of the 'rapture' or of the elect being 'caught up' ... yet]

23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

[Now the LORD Jesus Christ makes mention of false prophets and false christs 'showing great signs and wonders' to deceive even the elect if possible -- now, who are the 'elect' in this passage? Those who are believers before all of this happens, or those who believe because all of this is happening (what some call post-tribulation saints)-- or are both being referred to as one whole? -- I ask because only after mentioning this point does the LORD Jesus Christ mention what we call the 'rapture'].

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. [Notice that the LORD says 'immediately after'...]

30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. [The LORD Jesus Christ says 'all the tribes of the earth will mourn' when they see HIM returning to the earth -- EVERYONE EVERYWHERE WILL SEE JESUS THE CHRIST RETURN AT THE SAME TIME -- when Jesus Christ is back on the earth, it will be no secret -- HE will not be in the mountains in a cave, but before the eyes of each and every single one].

31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. [If there will angels sounding trumpets -- Jesus Christ's return will most definitely not be a quiet, secret affair, so please, let us not believe those who will come to us claiming to know who HE is and where HE is -- because we will already know -- we won't need anyone to tell us. From HIS own mouth Christ Jesus tells us exactly].

[Interestingly enough, Jesus Christ describes how 'HIS elect' will be gathered from the four winds across the whole planet AFTER the tribulation -- I mean 'immediately after the tribulation.' One could argue that these are the 'post-tribulation saints' some folks refer to... but at what point in this passage of Matthew 24 does the LORD Jesus Christ make mention of 'pre-tribulation saints?' Doesn't our LORD and SAVIOR just mention 'the elect' ... as if HE is referring to the Body as a whole?]

    ****There is no pre-tribulation rapture.****

The LORD Jesus Christ does say, however, in Revelation 3:10Revelation 3:10
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

    WP-Bible plugin
Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

I am not sure the LORD Jesus Christ means that HIS elect who are currently believers walking in the faith before HIS return will somehow not be on the earth while the great tribulation is going on.

All I know is that HE says HE ‘will keep (us) from the hour of trial’ that will come upon the whole world — ‘to test those who dwell on the earth.’ Do unbelievers need to be tested? Is it possible for nonbelievers to ‘fall away’ or ‘rebel against’ GOD … aren’t they already in rebellion? So who will be tested and who will ‘fall away’ from the Gospel Truth during this ‘hour of trial?’

This sounds like this will mostly be for those claiming to know Jesus Christ, but who indeed do not know HIM at all.

This makes me think of the Passover of the Exodus… in which the death angel went through Egypt killing the first born in households that did not anoint their homes with the blood. GOD’s chosen people were still living in Egypt when this happened. The death angel passed by their homes, too — but they were not harmed because they were covered by the blood. Is it possible that Christians will walk in similar fashion during the great tribulation?

Take note what the LORD Jesus Christ requires of HIS faithful servants:

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The Faithful Church as described in Revelation 3

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie–indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. 13 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”‘

Let us examine ourselves. It is a fact — an undeniable truth — that some of us calling ourselves Christians will be decieved by false preachers, false teachers, false prophets and false christs. Many of us have been deceived already. Many of us claiming to be Christians will, at the return of the LORD Jesus Christ, not have a place in the Kingdom of Heaven.

    (Luke 6:46; 13:26, 27Luke 6:46; 13:26, 27
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

    Matthew 7:21Matthew 7:21
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Faithful Christians will not be tested, only the loveless, compromising, corrupt, dead and lukewarm Christians — as of today, which one are you? If you still have breath, it’s not too late to ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all Faithfulness and Truth — and for you to obey HIS voice.

“The grace of the LORD Jesus Christ , and the love of GOD, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with” us all. Amen.
