Pope: Gay Marriage No; Aliens Yes

Pope Benedict XVI had plenty to say about California abolishing the ban on same-sex marriage and “firmly restated on Friday the Roman Catholic Church’s position that only unions between a man and a woman are moral.” You can read about what he has to say on morality, if interested at Reuters. The main issue here is the Vatican essentially encouraging people to believe in space aliens, which I believe may play into the end times deception on some level. It’s proven every single day that we are more prone to put our faith in aliens and space crafts than we are to acknowledge GOD ALMIGHTY.

As reported on ChicagoTribune.com: The Catholic Church has never been considered anti-alien. In fact, Catholic priests and scholars have written about the issue of extraterrestrial life since at least the Middle Ages. What made this week’s statement significant, several experts say, is that the comments by Rev. Jose Funes, director of the Vatican Observatory, were printed in the Vatican’s own newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano. That gave his words a certain papal heft.

It has also made for some lively discussions between liberal and conservative theologians. Rev. Christopher Corbally, vice director of the Vatican Observatory, said he has been bombarded with e-mail from colleagues pondering whether God could have created more than one world and whether other beings could be granted redemption via a Christ-like savior.

“Religion does play a big part in the UFO phenomenon,” said Julie Shuster, director of the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, N.M., the shrine for alien enthusiasts. “A lot of people feel it’s a very demonic thing. They’ll come with a family member, but they won’t set foot in the door because they don’t believe in any of it, and don’t think they should.”

Still, a sudden bump in the 160,000he 160,000

visitors the center gets each year isn’t expected. And Shuster sounded a bit skeptical of why the Vatican — which, she understands, has “a wide array of books on UFOs” — picked this particular time to bring up aliens.

“Maybe they felt that, for whatever reason, the timing is right,” Shuster posited.

So what’s next? A canonical embrace of ghosts, psychic powers, fairies and, perhaps, the Easter Bunny?

Turns out that’s not necessary.

“There are no problems with ghosts and the paranormal because a lot of the personages that populate the cosmic world of Catholicism are precisely those kinds of figures,” said O’Brien, the DePaul professor. “So there’s nothing against that kind of belief.”

In fact, O’Brien and other experts agree that the Catholic faith — and many others, for that matter — is based not on things a person can’t believe in, but on the things a person must believe in.

So believe what you wish. As long as you buy into the basic tenets of your religion, the sky, or in this case the universe, is the limit.

If Vatican officials have been writing about extraterrestrial life since the Middle Ages, as the article reveals, why did they decide now would be the appropriate time to share their views?

Anyway, I read an article a few months ago title ‘The Great Flying Saucer Myth’ in which the author presents a case for the following:

In recent years a fascinating new religion has landed upon the world scene. It is the religion of UFOlogy which finds its basic tenants in the concept that flying saucers are real. These saucers have visited our planet since man’s early beginning and, in fact, many claim they are responsible for man himself.

Reportedly these super-intelligent visitors from outer space claim to be our gods and the entire Bible is to be Reinterpreted in the light of this frightening concept. This is a god who is not considered to be a super-natural Being but instead possesses super technology. A technology so advanced that the humble inhabitants of Earth consider various events of history as miracles which are far beyond their human comprehension. Even the sacred belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is challenged by these champions of UFOlogy as we are told that Jesus Christ was simply a saucer being, that His birth was controlled by flying saucer manipulation and that ultimately He returned in a flying saucer to His home somewhere in the galaxy. It is claimed that He will come again with His myriad of saucers to take control of this world that is waiting for judgement. These new religionists firmly believe in their concept and with evangelistic fervor they proclaim their beliefs to all who listen.

But what is the purpose behind their preaching? What is the meaning of their message? Is their challenge to the historical Biblical interpretation justified in light of modern evidence? Are a few unexplained lights in the sky enough to cause man to discard belief in the supernatural power of the living God who created the heavens and the earth? Certainly these are pertinent questions which must be answered if the religion of UFOlogy is to replace Biblical Christianity. The Christian needs to be aware of this new crisis in order to answer the claims of the millions of people who will adopt with missionary zeal this new attempt to explain away the miracles of the Word of God.

As we examine the evidence it should become plain that these claims are simply man’s latest attempt to deviate from the literal truth of God’s Word. In fact, the evidence clearly shows that the concepts of UFOlogy are really Satan’s last attempt to falsely fulfill Biblical prophecy in an effort to deceive mankind in the end times. Satan and his followers are preparing now to establish the kingdom of the beast, the antichrist, and advocates of UFOlogy are playing directly into his hands. A firm understanding of his purpose and his ultimate defeat are necessary in order to expose UFOlogy for what it is — the great flying saucer myth.

It is a very interesting article and the author is quite persuasive in presenting the evidence for the idea that this UFO/ space alien ideas are of the great deceiver, Satan. Personally, the Holy Bible makes no mention of or allusion to extraterrestrial beings, so I really can’t consider the possibility of little green men living on Mars. However, I find it easy to entertain the idea that certain entities may be using the idea of space aliens and alien crafts as a cover to conduct experiments and test new technologies. I don’t put it pass mankind to kidnap citizens of its own country to do what they will to them…it’s been done before and it happens even today I am sure …Consider how often big pharmaceutical drugs are recalled after the FDA and medical ‘professionals’ have insisted on the safety of these drugs (which often have so many ridiculous side effects).
