This is an odd image, which I came across at Eternal World Television Network, Global Catholic Network’s Web site. This supposedly depicts the ‘Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity’ … not only is there an image of who is supposed to be Jesus Christ, but er, GOD’s there, too… along with a dove, the Holy Spirit. I am not sure what to say, so I’ll throw in a Holy Bible verse.
Exodus 20:4Exodus 20:4
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Christians are supposedly not under the (Old Covenant) laws, but idolatry is a sin always, as is mentioned numerous times throughout the New Testament. Sure, no one is bowing and praying before this image, but to depict GOD as if HIS photograph had been taken by one of the prophets or patriarchs? Call me old fashioned, but how can anyone dare to imagine to know what GOD looks like? It’s one thing for a Hollywood movie to cast an actor or actress to play the role, but for a religious institution/organization to do the same… it just seems a bit worldly to me.
Anyway, if you’re in the market for a crucifix, check out EWTN’s online store where the prices range from $1,600 to $3.99.
…And why is ‘god’ wearing so much clothes and ‘Jesus’ hardly wearing any?
