I'm not saying we will be tossed in hell for it, we know our sins are forgiven.

However I also know sex and violence are only self serving when we view that sort of thing in movies. So I can't say viewing it pleases Him.

Kenya: Yeah, a child does not need to see Iron Man at all. That's 'entertainment' they can do without.

IC: I noticed Stan Lee was in it, and I groaned. I kind of wish he would stop it with the cameos in these movies. Didn't Marvel give him his back-money already?

I hear what you're saying about the violence and other content in these mainstream movies. But I have no guilt about watching it. I didn't go into the theater with a blank slate for a brain (as some people really do) completely ready to be 'entertained.' I wanted to know the story, and yes, all the action, f/x and whatnot helps the movie. There is a line I won't cross when it comes to these movies, and Iron Man was acceptable for me. But we all know what 'acceptable' is for each of us -- so stop feeling so guilty already! Do you really think the LORD is going to ask you why you went and watched Iron Man...? [I hope you have a sense of humor... :) ]

Did you know the inventor of the Iron Man comic, Stan Lee was in the movie? He's the guy "Tony Stark" called Hugh Hefner!

and of course, there is plenty of violence

Really, all we Christians knew that before going in and that was reason enough why we all didn't have any business going. It's really a titillation of our fleshly lust for some violence. Nobody really dies, but desiring of violence in the heart is no better, like the man who looks at a woman commits sin in his heart.

Thanx for the warning about the kidz, I am very careful about guarding my child's eye gates and I am responsible for what goes into them. I don't expose her to that mess at home and I am not about to expose her outside of it either!

I saw it yesterday.

Basically, you have to understand that all the movies being made by unsaved people are going to produce a product not HONESTLY fitting for Christians. Not HONESTLY something you can walk from seeing and feel great in Christ that you went. It's really more like an expression of a weak moment. Giving over to the flesh for the sake of personal entertainment.

The first half of the movie has more sex and reprobate behavior than any Christian should be watching. As a Christian, I should have walked out given the material going on in it, but to my own shame I did not. I sat to "enjoy" the whole thing.

Basically after his romps with women and booze, he has a turn to "good" via THE SUIT and his formerly being captured. So it's like the movie expresses salvation by works. By going out to do good and redemption in ones self. Nothing Christian about that.

The special effects and action are all top notch for that sort of thing, but the movie is WAY MORE "American" than it is "Christian".

Anyway, my final analysis is this to anyone considering the movie. If you go, don't take the kids.
