This is an interesting article: “…Condrey… has set up a platform to marry hip-hop and gospel together through his nationally syndicated radio show, “The Spirit of Hip-Hop” and the yearly event Exodus. Condrey is using well-known rappers for their celebrity status, putting them in the forefront to spread the gospel to youth.” I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of any mainstream rappers who are Christian…or who flaunt it, at least.
Here’s another interesting excerpt from the article: “On his radio show, Condrey has held interviews and prayer sessions with rappers such as 50 Cent, Ludacris, Kanye West and Young Jeezy. The show has also featured guest appearances from gospel stars such as Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Smokie Norful.”
50 Cent? ‘Get Rich or Die Trying’ 50 Cent? I have yet to hear any of these rappers confess Jesus the Christ as their personal savior. They say ‘GOD’ is responsible for this and that in their life, but are they talking about the same GOD of the Bible? I know Kanye West did a track and video called ‘Jesus Walks,’ which was a good way to test the waters in terms of the rap music consumer’s (and advertising market) reception for Christian rappers, but West never took it anywhere.
And all I learn about these rappers from TV and magazines is that they love making money, doing drugs, having sex with a lot of women, launching fashion lines, and owning a lot of worldly materials…like fast, expensive cars, ridiculous mansions, expensive liquors, etc.
When was the last time you saw an episode of MTV’s ‘Cribs’ and saw a Bible lying around?
There are Christian rappers out there, but they don’t get mainstream exposure…which is probably a good thing because they would probably end up having to compromise their faith (i.e., selling their souls) for a buck and a gold statue.
Here are two Christian artists that I think are pretty good (note, some of the comments on the original source link are a little ugly):

CoCo Brother is a big deal here in the ATL, so it’s important to cast a light on what he’s doing - in the name of “the kingdom”.
None of these rappers live a life that glorifies God, so it’s hypocritical (and frankly, doctrinally dangerous) to have them speak to unbelievers as though they represent Christ.
Another thing to note - many of these vile rappers live lifestyles and display the same material possessions as the pulpit pimps that they claim as their “spiritual advisors”, so don’t expect the pimps to hold them accountable (see here and here).
We must never compromise the message of the Gospel by having it delivered (allegedly) by a foul mouth, denegerate thug.
