Couple Who Tried To Heal Daughter With Prayer Instead Of Medicine

How much do you bet this couple really wanted to take their daughter to the hospital or a doctor…and repeatedly buried or pushed aside that nagging feeling to do just that… would following that desire and giving in to the nagging feeling have been considered lack of faith by those around them? Why would GOD give man the ability to garner knowledge if it was not for a purpose? If your neighborhood became flooded… would you sit on your roof and wait for a ‘miracle,’ or put on that life jacket and swim for it? Believe it or not, some are convinced that GOD does everything grandly — that it cannot be the simple, obvious action through which GOD works HIS miracle.

A couple who tried to heal their dying daughter with prayer walked hand in hand into a crowded courtroom Monday and pleaded not guilty to charges of manslaughter and criminal mistreatment.

…The Worthingtons, members of Oregon City’s Followers of Christ Church, barely spoke as Judge Kathie Steele explained the charges…

Their 15-month-old daughter, Ava Worthington, died at home March 2 from bacterial bronchial pneumonia and a blood infection. Both conditions could have been treated with antibiotics, according to Christopher Young, a deputy state medical examiner. (Washington Post)

  1. God created medicine! I cannot imagine the mindset that the family is going through today. Craziness. I pray that God would heal them, and speak to them. I just took a Claratin for my sinuses, & I thank God for it!

Amen on the Claratin…I just popped one myself. And, yes, thank GOD for giving man the wisdom to be able to nurse this body HE has given us.
